Cleopatra crochet beanie and bib necklace: custom

Long overdue post! I had some problem posting my blog post in February. So now I'm trying to get back on track.

Cleopatra crochet beanie and matching bib necklace set, custom order by Ms Julie for her new year dinner event and running event.

Crochet and hand sew with several types of beads. Bottom black crochet was designed to look like Cleopatra's hair.

Amigurumi Cobra with the long body wrapped around the crown top. Embellished with glass pearl beads, metallic gold beads, flat back beads & metallic yarn crochet pieces. ❤

The crochet bib necklace with adjustable length lobster clamp, was also embellished with similar beads as the headgear.

Thanks Ms Julie for ordering. She said that she's might wear it for this year Standard Chartered KL Marathon.

Equipped with all the necessary baking utensils so that their brand ambassador Aizat Yanan can run the marathon & make some energy bars along the way.

Closeup! I did an extra crochet star shape cookie cutter at the back of the Baking Chef Hat beanie for the diva star runner Aizat, ambassador of Marathon Baker! ❤

Marathon Baker also requested for custom machine embroidery of their logo. I digitized & sew the patch on both side of the Baking Chef Hat Beanie.

If you are wondering where was the measuring cup as it was not on the Baking Chef beanie, I actually sew it on a wrist band 

Never wefie with Aizat while wearing his beanie that I've made whenever he pickup his order from me. This was the first since 3 years ago he's been my regular customer. And I also got my first taste of Marathon Bakers Energy bar too! Thank you Aizat!

Last week I've completed another creative crochet headgear order from Aizat. His 12th order from MisFydKrafts for his 26th full Marathon anniversary in the Penang Bridge International Marathon, PBIM 2015, 22nd November 2015. Let's see what I did for him for the day :D

Rambut is hair in Bahasa Malaysia. 💇❤

Scientific name: Nephelium lappaceum

It comes in red, yellow or green in colour. It is closely related to lychee & longan. One of Malaysia's native fruits. It's a nice fragrant fruit that has a thick juicy flesh.

I know this is not the best look for rambutan but pompom is the easiest way by using yarn.😉

Mangosteen aka Manggis, the beautiful purple queen of fruits! 💜👸

Scientific name: Garcinia mangostana

They say this sweet yummy Mangosteen is full of antioxidant.👍

A few years back, I did some Mangosteen brooch for kulitmanggis 😉 that was my first crochet of the fruit.

When I was small, I had been stung by wasps on the head a few times at my grandpa's fruit orchard in Sibu. I was picking some mangosteen under the tree. Didn't recall much about the incident but mum said my head & face was puffed up so badly.😢

🚑 I survived (obviously) with no clear recall of the event except remembered a glimpse that I cried badly at the front door of my grandpa house (not sure whether it's real) 😀

Ohayo! Let's start this morning with the super controversial Durian, the king of fruits! 👑❤

Scientific name: durio zibethinus

You either really hate it or love it. I love it, how about you? 😀
The creamy sweet scullent flesh just irresistable although the smell might be very bad for some people. It's forbidden to bring the raw fruit into most of the hotels & airports. 🏢✈

Most expensive local durian that I know is Musang King, can go until RM50/kg (weight of the whole fruit with skin).
Some yummy  local dessert/food uses durian ⏩ sticky rice with durian,  durian porridge, durian crepe, durian ice cream, gulai tempoyak, tempoyak goreng etc. Tempoyak is fermented durian where it turns a bit sour over time and normally it's use in cooking 😙

It was a real challenge to make the durian spikes. What do you think? Does it look yummy as the real one? 😁

A slice of sweet juicy Watemelon aka Tembikai or Semangka!  🍉🍉🍉

Scientific name: Citrullus lanatus

It's actually the same family as the cool cucumber. It is not from citrus family although the name does indicate it as one. Maybe they just use it because it's round like some citrus fruits.The fruit consist of 91% water & packed with vitamin C.

Just love the fresh watermelon juice. The seed can be dried to make crunchy treat called kuaci. 😋
