Flower Vine Necklace

The first order for my flower vine necklace by Wan. I've changed the designed a bit as she wanted to put more flower. So here's the necklace:

Initially she wanted 2 flowers but I've added another different design flower (freestyle) to balance the flower bunch.

BTW Marta from Creative Yarn has started blogging again! I got this flower vine necklace inspiration from her free pattern the white flower necklace. I've adopted the idea design & changed the pattern. She's is a great crocheter & knitter who shares her great free pattern. Do check out her blog =)

My Family Mobile Sock - Experimenting

A backdated post. While I was relaxing for the 2 weeks holiday in December with my popo (grandma), mum, my 2 bro & sis, I managed to crochet some small items for them, my Pdy & myself. This was including the New Year/Christmas present swap for cousin in the previous post. I've crocheted 6 simple mobile socks for my mum, bro, sis, pdy & 2 for myself. Here's some photos of the socks that I've made:

I've used the Mohair acrylic mix yarns that I've bought from Daiso. It was the first time I've used these type of yarns. The yarns are soft & furry!
BTW The 3 mobile socks in the photo are my sis, bro & myself. Not in the photo is my mum's mobile sock  (black mix) & my 2nd mobile sock (brown mix), both with slightly different design. =)
I'm using my 2nd design with button (not in the photo) & the furry mohair is getting furrier than before! =P

Oh La La ~ Hot Pink Beret Beanie

An order from Rodzila, a hot pink plain beret beanie which was actually my first order for this colour =). So here's the beanie:

Hope that she will look hot wearing it =). Thanks Rodzila for your order!

Mangosteen Craze: Last Custom Order of the Year 2010

I kept this post for quite sometime. The last custom made order that I've received for 2010 is from a Malaysia well-known eraser carver friend Mangosteenskin. She ordered 6 Oohana pins & a custom Mangosteen theme pin. I've designed 2 mangosteen theme pins for her to pick but eventually she choose both =)

Here's the photos of her order:

As you can see she's is really crazy about mangosteen =D. It's the first time I make these type of pins & really enjoyed bling the crochet pins with beads. The beads does make them pop!

Actually when I was small, I had a bad experience being stung by 3 hornet/wasp on my head while I picking some mangosteen under a mangosteen tree at my late granpa's 'kebun' (fruit graden). I can't really remember the hospitalization or anything except crying out loud. My mum said that my head & body was puffed like a melon. Despite that I still like mangosteen! =)

I absolutely enjoyed making these pins! Thanks Mango for your order. =)

Extra Mini Shell Pouch for New Year/Christmas Present Swap

Every year on Christmas/New Year, my family normally have a present swap session with my mum's sis family (my aunt). Although my family do not celebrate Christmas (my Aunt do), we really enjoy this present swap session as it's fun to get present from each other. It's like our family tradition. Who doesn't like the surprise & excitement of getting a present right? =)

So every year each family will do their selection session to know who are you going to give the present. This year I have picked my cousin Kim & lil Nat For Nat I've bought a craft kit for her to try to make her own decorative headband. But I was having some difficulties to pick a present for my teenage cousin Kimberly as I know she had received the normal accessories (earrings etc) for these few years. Eventually I'd decided to get crafty & make something for her. A mini shell pouch, a smaller version of the mini bag. So here's the pouch:

This pouch is around 9x7cm in size with 2 gold vintage button to fasten.
I made lining with black felt (first time!) & sew my label on it.
Hope she'll like it =). Can't wait to get mine present soon (still in Kuching)!

A Little Late Birthday Present for My Good Friend

A F'dyShawl for my good friend Amal who celebrated her birthday on the 31st Dec. For her, I embellished a rose pink jersey shawl with some crochet edging.

Compare to the 1st shawl, this one was with a different pattern edging mix brown & red shell with clear rainbow beads. I've also hand-sewn my label on it =).
What do you think about this edging?

Felt Craft Class for Kids

One of my crafter friend Norlie from Sekoci Norlie will be organizing a felt craft at the end of this month 30th January 2011. If your kids are into craft, do have a try & join Sekoci Norlie's felt class!

Oh BTW your kids will also have a chance to be features in TV3 Kids News too! =)

Anyone care for "string" noodles with handmade "crochet" chopstick?

This is another handmade chopstick hook experiment that I did in December last year. This time I used a normal non disposable chopstick with some decorative part on it. So here's the hook:

This chopstick was a bit harder than the disposal bamboo chopstick so the carving took a bit more time.  I would like to try with different material or patterned chopstick in the future & see how's the outcome =).

The handmade crochet hook does look more nicer with the decorative part, don't you think?

Stylish Blogger Award from Lin

I've received this award last year in early December from a paper card artist friend Lin (Lin Handmade Greeting Card). A very late post as I had internet problem in December.
Thanks for the cool award Lin! =)

BTW Happy New Year to all!

The ParenThots event: Star Kid's Fair @KL Convention Center

This is the first public event I've attended for crafters. I went there to help 2 of my crafter friends who both organizing a craft session, Miyyah & Norlie. Here are some shots from the event:

Some shots that I managed to take on the event.

Both photos courtesy of Miyyah@Kertas on FB: The children are so excited even only watching me squeezing the glue!

For Miyyah's session (Quilling), I was the 'glue girl' squeezing the big white PVA glue for the kids to use for their quilling.

Photo courtesy from Miyyah@Kertas on FB: Norlie briefed me on the coupons for participants which I'd helped to distribute before her session. Asma quietly observing at the back =P

Photo courtesy from SekociNorlie on FB: Me & Zam working on the Hot Glue Gun

For Norlie's session (Recycle jeans craft), I've helped on the coupon for the participant & also as the 'glue girl' with the 'glue boy' Zam working the hot glue gun for the kids. All Norlie's helper has this cute recycle jeans flower on them. Most of them got the pins but I got the hairband =D. It was kinda choatic event but eventually everything somewhat turned up well.

My First Quilling Experience: Quilling Get Together V1.0 by Miyyah

I know it a super late post but I've decide to post it anyway =). I've attend a few crafter's event this year & I'm going to post all of them within this year (I hope =P).

This is late post on the Quilling Get Together at KLCC that I've joined in October. It was my first time learning quilling with a few of the well-known paper crafters in Malaysia. Thanks guys for the tips on paper quilling! I've certainly learned at lot from you guys! So here's some photos from my camera on that day:
We got some free biscuit from Miyyah@kertas, the organizer. We had a great time quilling & learning new tricks together. My side of the the table with Ayin & Nirwana was the most havoc which talks about anything from my lab mouse experience to Ayin's navy. The other side was quite but very diligently making their beautiful quilling cards. My first quilling card is in the cards photo, top left 2nd (Black base with red & yellow swirl).  The other cards are from Miyyah, As, Lin, Saza, Ayin, Nirwana, Tania, Nisa, Molly, Lin

Really glad to meet you all! Hope to join the next session soon~~ =D

Experiment for New F'dyHana Design

I've managed to try a new design for my F'dyHana last month. This time I tried to mix my crochet with filigree. Here's the result:

I think it's more sophisticated & vintage look for F'dyHana as I've used thread for the crochet. What do you think?

Baby Lacey Beanie: New Design Baby Beanie for My Lil Niece

This is an order from my cousin wife Ina for her lovely baby daughter Keisha. She requested a white plain beanie with interchangeable Oohana, so I've design a new baby beanie with two Oohana hairclips. Here's some photo of the new baby beanie:

I made the Oohana as hairclips so that Keisha can wear it with the beanie or by itself.
You can check Keisha wearing the beanie here. =)
