MFK on The 8TV Quickie! - The report

Hi guys! This is another long due post! I know it's nearly 3 weeks since the show! Yes, as you all know from my previous post, I was invited to be a guest on The 8TV Quickie on the 1st March. My good crafter friend Rebecca aka Mikko from Craftzmaniac accompanied me there for my first live TV show. Thanks Mikko!

Anyway here's some photos behind the scene by Mikko.
The studio setting was cute & cozy with tonnes of doodles on the opposite wall!

Here's the videoclip of the show on tv taken by Kak Chik from thelittleBIGshots.

Don't you think both Zher & Megan do looked really cute in the beanies? =D.

It was certainly an awesome first experience to be on a cool & urban TV show with the 8TV Quickie team.

A big thanks to Akma who invited me to the show which was really a great surprised when I received her email on the invitation, Zher & Megan for making me not so nervous on the show (very pretty & cool ladies) , and all the 8TV Quickie team. You all are so awesome in your work especially on how you guys handle the 15min show with efficiency, everyday! Kudos!

Last but not least,  thanks to my family, friends, crafter friends, customer & fan of MFK who had given the a super great support on me for all these while since I've started MFK last year until now.

Oh I've prepared some freebies on the show for the callers & I hope they have received them safely =)

Experiment: Aquaria Rings & Vinyly Bows

Some new experiments I did on rings, pin & bow.

Inspired by Craftzmaniac's founder, Rebecca Chuah aka Mikko's idea on her marble & zipper rings, I've designed this ring & pin with some crochet touch of my own using some Japanese fabric.

The red & light brown are rings, the blue is a pin.

Here's another simple experiment with vinyl sheets (artificial leather).

Initially I got some problem to glue the bow together (hard to stick them together) but eventually I managed to sew it together =)

What did you guys did last weekend? I managed to do some spring cleaning, tidy up my messy house =D

Felt Craft Class for Kids - Report

Hi guys! It has been really quite a while since my last blog post! I was kinda busy with the 8TV Quickie (will be posting about it soon), catching up February orders & plenty of craft related outings. I've also have some bad internet connection too, making me hard to update anything in FB & blog.

Anyway this is a long due post (waiting for the TV show video) for an event that I've posted in one of my blog post, where my crafter friend Norlie organised a felt craft class for Kids on the 30th Jan at Wisma Bling Lustre, Puchong.  I've helped her on the class where I teaches some of the kids on how to sew felt. Although I've lost my way there with Zam (I'm not that familiar with Puchong area) eventually found the place after an hour late! But we didn't missed that much. The TV3KidsNews (a kids news show on a Malaysian TV channel) was there to do some coverage. Anyway it was fun!

All the teacher didn't have time to take photos, but we are lucky that Kak Chik from thelittleBIGshots helped us to take some shots of the event. She also helped us to take a video shot of the TV3KidsNews on tv.

Here's some photos that she took in the felt class:

The teachers on the day, in green hijab is Norlie from Sekoci Norlie, in black hijab is Sabrina form Mikylayna & in black cap is Zam from MiezCraftShop. And me in my light blue slouchy beanie. The cute little baby with a big bow made by Norlie is Mia, a daughter of Kak Chik.

She also did a mini photo session for Norlie's headband, but there are some of Zam's & my handmade on the kids. Checkout some of these adorable photos of the kids posing with the handmades:

Her daughter Aiza is wearing one of my handmade, a slouchy beanie & my TatyHana pin. The slouchy beanie was made using metallic cotton yarn for myself. Ain't she just photogenic! All her 3 daughters are! Definitely the daughters of a photographer mum!

Do checkout her official photography website thelittleBIGshots & FB page, she does beautiful photos of kids & family =).

BTW my friend Norlie also just went on air on Wanita Hari Ini TV3 (a national TV, direct translate 'women today') last Friday. So proud of you! Check out her Sekoci Norlie blog & FB page for more updates on her work =D.

Fun 'Felt-on-Tshirt' class with Mikylyana

Hi guys! Sorry for the long silence as I was kinda busy catching up with my craft mood (starting my craft marathon for the February orders) after the 8TV Quickie show which I'll be posting about it soon! There will be several other back dated post too. Some new design beanies & accessories. =)

Anyway back to the original post, another of my felt crafter friend Sabrina from Mikylayna is going to do a class at Shah Alam, Selangor on the 26th March. She is well known among us as the crafter who has the hand like a sewing machine! All her felt work are hand sewn really neatly & tidy as a sewing machine. You can check out her Mikylayna blog & FB for more of her amazing work. If you are interested to learn how Mikylayna do her fun felt applique on T-shirt, then this Part 1 basic class is definitely the one that you don't wanna miss!

Here's the details of the class:

MisFydKrafts will be at The 8TV Quickie!

Yes! I was invited to be a guest in The 8TV Quickie, live on the 1st March Tuesday (Girlie Guide) to talk about my crafts. I was super surprised & honored to be invited to one of the popular, cool & urban TV show in Malaysia which hosted by fun & quirky hosts!.

Honestly, I'm a bit nervous & worried whether I can talk about my craft on live TV! I hope I can do well when the time comes. Wish me luck!

Anyway, for those who don't know about The 8TV Quickie, it's a 15 minutes show starts 11.30pm everyday (except 12pm on Wednesday & Sunday) on 8TV. There will be some freebies from me for callers on the show so do stay up to watch & call to get them =)

Another version of MFK Name Card

This is the newer version of MFK name card that I've been working on these few days. I wanted to make a black colour name card but of course my printer can't print white. So I've decided to carved my details on an eraser stamp (my previous post) & stamp on the the card using the ink stamp pad that I've bought from Scrap.n.Crop. Here's the outcome:

To make it different, I've put a touch of crochet on the cards =)

I still have my old cards. Why need to waste them. To give them a new look, I've also gave them the crochet touch too =D
What do you think about my new cards?

When Crafters Meet @ a Craftstore - Scrap.n.Crop

An unplanned meet up of my paper crafter (Miyyah from Miyyah@kertas, Saza from ShareYourLoveWithCards) & felt crafter friends (Norlie from SekociNorlie, Azza from ChomelCraft) at a local store Scrap.n.Crop which sells plenty of paper & scrap booking supplies! You can get nearly everything there from paper to stamp pads. Normally they sell online (from their site the largest scrapbook online store in Asia!) but they do sometimes have open days where you can checkout the items yourself. Luckily I'm not a paper crafter (yet =P) but if I am one, I'm sure will be drown by all the goodies there! Here's some snapshot of the happy crafters in the store:

I bought some card stocks & ink pads for my new name card project =)

My Eraser Carving Mood is Back (for awhile)

I was thinking of making a new name card, so I start carving for a new eraser stamp. This time I carved my details on the eraser (7 x 3cm, largest that I have) by carving out my own handwriting. Here's the carved eraser:
The carving was not that clean but then it's readable (acceptable). Actually that's my good readable handwriting. You won't want to see my REAL handwriting. No one can read it accept me! Heheh.

So next will be mounting the eraser. I'm thinking of trying to use new stuff to mount the carved eraser (something water proof). I'll be posting about it again if I've found the best material.

For this name card version, I'm aiming not to use anything that is printed out =). I hope my plan will turn out ok!

Colourful Rainbow MP3 Sock!

My first order of gadget sock for a MP3 player. This order was from Farahana, Fallahiah sis who ordered some beret beanies previously. My experiment family mobile socks attracted her to order one from me. So here's the sock:

I've added black felt lining to make it more protective for her MP3.
Just love the outcome of the colour combination! =)

Nature themed Bracelet & Ring

An interesting order from Lina for her university dinner which doing a nature theme. She ordered a green ring with the flower button (remake from my previous post) & a green based bracelet with yellow beads & red edging. Here's her order:

The bracelet does look like a colourful caterpillar, don't u think so?
Hope she'll enjoy her nature theme dinner wearing MFK! =)!

New Designs : Kids Coral Beret & Coral Beanie with Visor

This is another order that I've managed to complete during the CNY holidays. Both ordered by Azila for both of her lil princesses. It's the first time I've made a Coral Beret for kids which is slightly smaller compare to the adult size. I've also design a new beanie with visor too, Coral Beanie with visor. The Oohanas was attached permanently to the both beanies as her request. Check out the outcome:

The Coral Beret Beanie is exactly the same design that my lil sis wore in my previous post here but slightly smaller.

She said both of her girls love it. Thanks! =D

Here's a photo comparing the adult & kids size Coral Beret Beanie =)

Colourful Pink Coral Beret Beanie

A custom order by Jaclyn who wanted a Coral Beret with shades of pink. It's the first time I've mix this much colour in an adult beret beanie =). Quite challenging & fun to do. She also requested an lilac OoHana pin with turquoise acrylic beads to go with the beanie.

Hope she'll enjoy wearing this beanie =)

Lacey Beret with Bow & Plain Beret with OoHana

This is an order from Fallahiah. A black Lacey Beret with pink bow & a Plain Beret with orange Oohana. I've changed the design a bit for the Lacey Beret. So here's the berets:

The lacey beret was adapted from Iman's lacey beret. I've made the bow slightly bigger than the normal double bow I've made previously to balance it out when it's attach on the beanie.

BTW the Bow & Oohana are pins so she can detach it whenever she wants. =)

New F'dyHana Design in the House! TatyHana

This is a new design of F'dyHana which I've made by using a technique called cro-tat. A combination of crochet & tatting technique. Normally a shuttle is use for tatting but there are several other method using needle & cro-tatting hooks. This method produces more lacey pattern compare to crochet itself. With my first attempt of cro-tat, I've made a new design F'dyHana pins. So here's the outcome:

I've used some vintage buttons on the F'dyHana. I just love the vintage buttons! It gives them an elegant & gorgeous look.
I'm calling them TatyHana. I've made a bunch of it & given them all to my crafter friends =).
What do you think about this new F'dyHana?

My Simple Adjustable Red Flask Bottle Holder

A new item that I've never crocheted before. I did this one actually end of last year when my family was in KL. As my mum makes coffee (I love coffee!) in the morning, she packs some in my flask for me to bring to the office (I get headache if I don't have coffee in the morning, addicted =P). It's kinda hard to bring a 0.5L flask in my handbag so I've crocheted a flask bottle holder. So here it is:

I've added two button on the handle so that I can adjust the length, shoulder/hand held.

I still remember mum's crocheted blue water bottle holder which I used to bring to school everyday. Anyone else uses crocheted bottle holder before when you are young? =)

Mix Colour Bubble Beret Beanie

Here's an order my Adeline before the new year in December. As MFK was closed in December I started to make this beanies in January. She requested 2 custom bubble beret beanies with different colour combination, one for herself & another one for her friend. Here's the 2 completed beanies:

She ordered 2 different combination of colours, ivory white+grey & dark blue+grey with a dark blue Oohana pin. Hope that both of them will like it. =)

Happy Chinese New Year! =D
